And the New Year is here….again..

Here we are again at that time of the year where people are all excited for the new year and they start making new year resolutions, and have great hopes for 2010.

I usually don’t make new year’s resolution cause most of the time, it is forgotten by the second week of January.

However, this year, I decided to make a list of resolutions and (hopefully) stick to them.

Oh, and please don’t laugh when you see what’s no.1 on the list..

New Year’s Resolution

1. Shop less. Yes, you saw right. Shop LESS. :( I’m currently planning on shopping like once every 2 months or so :)

2. Be more thankful for what I have.

3. Start buying more flats and less high heels.

4. Be more responsible.

5. Start saving $$.

6. Add more colours to my wardrobe.

7. Focus more on the big things in life and not the tiny things.

8. Adopt a healthy lifestyle.

And there you go! My new year’s resolution for 2010! :)

I’m hoping to achieve half of what is on the list, so good luck to me!

Happy New Year guys!

A post all women/girls should read

Someone just got home from the hospital because someone went to get vaccinated against cervical cancer.

The gynae was a fun lady. She gave me a lecture before giving me the jab.

The contents of that lecture included the following:

1. She told me to ask/inform all my girlfriends to get vaccinated against cervical cancer.

2. She reminded me that after a certain age, women have to go for their annual pap smear and that it is IMPORTANT. Some of her patients whom have already been given this advise usually show up 5/6 years later after the cancer has progressed.

3. Cervical cancer is the ONLY cancer which can be prevented. But getting the vaccine doesn’t mean that you’ll never get it. Regular check up is still important.

4. Monthly self breast examination is IMPORTANT.

5. She said MOST women who come to her claim they examine their breasts every month, but when she asks to demonstrate, most of them do it wrongly. She said the technique is IMPORTANT.Click here to learn how.

6. Early detection saves you a lot of trouble.

7.  She told me to study hard and wished me luck for sem 6. :p

Confusion

Have you ever did something or want something or pursue something only to realize, halfway through that you’re not interested in it anymore?

It is not whether you can do it or not, the question is if you ENJOY doing it. It is like knowing how to drive a car, being able to drive a car but not interested in driving the car.

It is about passion.

What if one day, you woke up and realized that you are no longer passionate about the thing you do. Is it a phase? Or is it a realisation?

What if it is not a phase and you get stuck there?

What would you do if you lost the passion you had for your career?

What then?

Robert Pattinson is NOT HOT!

OK, since the twilight craze is annoying me, I decided to blog about this dude.

FIRSTLY, I knew Edward was this vampire, which everyone said was cute/hot/…and whatever else AND I kinda believed it..and this was BEFORE I watched twilight.

THEN, I watched twilight..mind you, when I decided to watch twilight, it was because I wanted to understand why people are going crazy over it.

It was one of the MOST boring movies EVER!

And Mr.Edward-I’m-so-pale-you-think-I’m-anemic-Cullen, is NOT hot. I mean come on!! to me he looks gay. How is a gay looking anemic vampire hot again???

I’m sorry but I don’t find him hot.

The weekend away

Last weekend was spent at Taiping and Ipoh. I never knew catching up with my cousins could be so much fun!

I left here on Friday and my first destination was good ol’ Taiping!

I reached there around 11 something in the morning and we paid a visit to my aunt. After which we headed to Yut Sun…or something, I’m not sure about the spelling.:p

DSC00843 ~This was my lunch~

DSC00844 ~ And this was my dessert: Choco Tart~

The food there was OK. But the main reason I enjoyed it was knowing that I was having lunch with my family at the same place my grandfather used to come for lunch/ dinner/whatever..i just know that he always eats there. Maybe I’m extra nostalgic or something, but Taiping is a place full of history and memories for me, and it felt so good to be there again, even if the food in KL was better, I totally enjoyed my lunch there! :)

Then, I went to visit the great Ipoh Bakery in Taiping. I simply love the pastries there!!

And this is the delicious chicken pie which is a MUST try! They always finish early.. Did I mention that they are freshly baked?

After lunch I headed of the the beautiful Taiping Lake Gardens…

After sight-seeing around Taiping, we headed back to Ipoh for my cousin’s wedding reception. I’ll do a separate post on that event.:)

I just felt so happy to be back in Taiping, don’t ask me why. Maybe because my memorable childhood memories took place there, I don’t know. All I know is that I love the history and the food there.

Till next time,

:)
